At Winter Pride Queenstown, we’re committed to celebrating our community while protecting the beautiful environment that makes our event so special. We believe that Pride and environmental responsibility go hand in hand, and we’re taking concrete steps to minimize our impact on Queenstown’s stunning alpine landscape.
Our Sustainability Commitments
Carbon Offset Initiative A portion of every ticket sold goes directly towards offsetting the carbon emissions generated by our event. We’re investing in verified carbon offset programs to neutralize our environmental footprint and contribute to global climate action.
Waste Reduction Partnership We’re actively collaborating with our venue partners and local bars to transition to recyclable and compostable materials. By working together with Queenstown’s hospitality industry, we’re reducing single-use plastics and promoting sustainable alternatives throughout the festival.
Centralized Event Planning Most Winter Pride events are strategically located in Queenstown’s central areas, reducing the need for extensive travel between venues and minimizing transportation-related emissions.
Sustainable Transportation We actively encourage attendees to use our dedicated Winter Pride shuttle buses and public transportation options. These shared transport solutions significantly reduce individual carbon footprints while creating a fun, social experience for festival-goers.
